Allstar Organics is a certified organic farm in Marin County, California that produces an unusual line of fresh organic dried herbs, spices, and herbal salts and sugars. Made by hand in small batches, on a daily or weekly basis, we hope to inspire creativity in chefs, the daily cook, bakers, bartenders, and baristas.
Our certified organic herbs and spices are grown, dried, and processed on the farm. Allstar Herbal Salts are made with certified organic (in Nature and Process) grey, unrefined, hand-raked, wind-dried, French sea salt. The herbal sugars are made with a fine, certified-organic, Certified Fair Trade, evaporated cane juice.
Our certified organic herbs and spices are grown, dried, and processed on the farm. Allstar Organics is two acres of aromatic plants and antique roses at our home in Lagunitas, and 10 acres of over one hundred varieties of certified organic, specialty and heirloom crops grown on our production field located in Nicasio, in Marin County, CA. halfway between San Francisco Bay and Pt. Reyes Station. We have been certified organic since our first year of farming in 1994.
Essential oils distilled from plants grown on the farm give our salts and sugars an exceptionally aromatic, 100% natural, flavors and fragrance.
Soil health is the basis of our production system. Through our vegetables and flowers, our herbs, sugars, and salts, or the products from our distillery, we are intent on providing our customers with the best possible experience of fresh, full-flavored, highly nutritious, locally grown foods and ingredients.
Allstar is an all-weather farm with distinct seasons, and a highly mineralized, clay-based soil. Soil health is the basis of our production system. Our soil enrichment program includes a diverse cover cropping system, microbiological drenches, and aged nutritional mulches. As a result, our vegetables and herbs acquire vivid color, distinctive texture, and intense fragrance and flavor.
In 2006, Allstar launched a line of dried herbs, spices, and herbal salts, and sugars marketed under the Allstar Organics label. These delicious and unique ingredients, as seen on NBC's Today Show, have become an important part of our farm production.
We are members of Marin Organic, an association of over 40 certified organic farmers in Marin County who are working together to create and strengthen our local food system. We are certified organic by Marin Certified Organic Agriculture (MOCA), through our Marin Agricultural Commissioner's office. Our production field in Nicasio at LaFranchi Dairy Ranch enjoys the benefit of a Marin Agricultural Land Trust easement.
